mitchell's brewery - knysna

Mitchell’s Knysna Brewery was established in 1983 by Lex Mitchell in a small building in the Knysna town center. In 1985 they moved to the Knysna Industrial Area and had the space to add Bosun’s Bitter to the Forester’s Draught which had been their only beer, since the they have added various other ales to the repertoire, some on a special basis, and some which have come to stay – Raven Stout, and Ninety Shilling Ale. Mitchell's Ales are unpasteurised, live ales,
Black, full bodied, and very flavourful. A medium strength stout, very smooth on the palate and exhibiting a pronounced bitter and distinct hop aroma, a well balanced milk stout.

A light (both in colour & body), refreshing Pilsner-type beer, which is sweetish and light on the palate. A slightly aromatic beer which is lightly hopped.
A not too bitter ale modeled on the line of the English Yorkshire Bitter. Full bodied and characterful, this beer has much to offer those who are looking for flavour.
A heavy spicy ale, with gloriously round, full palate. Let this traditional Scottish Ale take you back in time as you savour the complex aromatic notes and full - bodied amber glow.
